Associate Product Manager

Access Development is looking for an A Player who is seeking a challenging position as they are gaining experience in their Product Management oriented career. We’re hiring an Associate Product Manager to work with our talented team in Salt Lake City. This is not a remote position. The Associate Product Manager will be intricately involved in the product development process to ensure our products are performing and surpassing user expectations. Key responsibilities will include Jira management, bug tracking and management, testing new features and coordinating updates across different functional areas. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Product.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

This role requires a motivated self-starter who can hit the ground running, quickly taking on tasks and enjoys working in a cross functional environment. Specifically, this would include:

  • Own the bug tracking and resolution for both external-facing products and internal tools.
  • Understand user journey issues and customer feedback to influence priortiziation of product fixes.
  • Colloborate with Product Managers in tracking down the root cause of issues.
  • Manage the backlog via Jira for new feature requests and bug management.
  • Communicate with the Development Team to ensure product bug fixes or enhancements are launched to meet or exceed user expectation.
  • Clearly document any issues or new features.
  • Test solutions in a stage environment prior to launch and test post launch in production.
  • Work closely with internal teams like sales, marketing, IT, product marketing, client success and customer support for both product input and ensuring product launch success.
  • Participate in weekly stand up meetings with the Development Team to communicate any new requests and track status of in process items on the Kanban Board.
  • Become the in-house expert on your assigned products and suggest new features to enhance the user experience.
  • Keep abreast of industry and competitive trends that impact the company.
  • Assist with customer and market research.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This role is designed for someone who has 1 to 2 years relevant work experience and wants to be on a product management career path. Existing product management experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business or equivalent, plus a history of continuous, relevant learning through reading, seminars or professional or student organizations.
  • Demonstrable broad understanding of current web and mobile app development technologies and how they can be applied to meet product and customer requirements
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) with a strong people-centric demeanor.
  • Strong teamwork, decision-making, documentation and analytical skills.
  • Prior experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira.
  • You are the type of person who wants to make things happen quickly, can juggle a variety of tasks and takes pride in working successfully with other teams.
